ParentsSSA Workshop: The Athlete’s Journey

Singaporean swimmer May Ooi, at the young age of 16 competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics in seven swimming events. Despite studying medicine for six years, she decided to pursue her passion - a career in sports. She later became a professional MMA athlete and represented the nation in Ju-Jitsu. After retiring from combat competition, May opened a martial arts school teaching the Brazilian martial art Capoeira.
